Here are some of the best apps for tracking packages in 2021

When ordering gifts online this holiday season, it may be helpful to use an all-in-one delivery app to track the progress of your shipments.

Disclaimer: Glancing at the app dozens of times a day won’t make your stuff arrive more quickly, but, if you get packages delivered from numerous companies, a package tracking app can streamline the process.

To help fix the problem of locating and planning for your shipments, developers have created various apps to let you know things like when your packages will arrive using notifications. The apps are also a great way to be notified when gifts you’ve ordered for others have arrived.

These are the best tracking apps for iOS and macOS, according to tech experts.

For a clean, accessible design use Parcel.

Wirecutter, a product review site owned by The New York Times, favors Parcel as the best package tracker app to manage all of your orders.

Parcel has a clean design that makes it simple to use, and it works with the United States Postal Service as well as 300 major delivery companies, according to its app store preview.

“In our tests, adding new package tracking numbers to the list in Parcel required the fewest taps among all the apps we tried, and Parcel can even add the numbers automatically if you forward your shipping-confirmation emails to a unique email address,” Wirecutter writes. “Parcel is quicker than other apps to notify you when there’s a status change such as a pickup, delivery or delay. And because your data syncs across most Apple devices, you can check your packages’ status on your Mac or iPad, too.”

In addition, Amazon integration in Parcel allows you to get your packages added automatically from your Amazon account. Once an order is shipped, it will appear in Parcel, according to the app store.

Note: Some features, such as push notifications and tracking more than three deliveries are limited to premium subscribers. The price for the premium subscription is $4.99 per year.

Ranked No. 1 by igeeksblog.com and No. 2 by Wirecutter is an app called Deliveries: a package tracker.

Deliveries supports services including UPS, FedEx, US Postal Service, DHL, TNT, Canada Post and many more. Its main list shows a summary of all your shipments and counts down the days remaining until delivery. You can view the shipping company’s site, or easily share your shipment over email, iMessage or AirDrop using the app. All of your old deliveries are archived so you can look them up again if you need to, according to its app store preview.

“Deliveries keeps tabs on when each package is shipped and when it’ll be dropped off,” the app store preview reads. “Just copy a tracking number to your clipboard and click the + button; Deliveries automatically grabs that number (no pasting required) and figures out the carrier with impressive accuracy. Give the package a name—say, ‘New hoodie’—and you’re done.”

For added convenience, Deliveries offers a notification center widget to let you quickly check your packages without opening the app. You can have Deliveries automatically send your packaging tracking information to your calendar, which you can then see across all of your Apple devices.

You can also track orders from services like Amazon and Apple, even before they ship. If you have packages from other services, select other and enter a delivery date and website—so you can check on them when you need to and still keep everything in one place.

Note: The current price for the premium subscription is $4.99 per year and $0.99 per month.
